John C. Grady -- Of Counsel
Mr. Grady focuses primarily on insurance fraud and asset recovery litigation. Mr. Grady is the former Lead Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey’s Insurance Fraud Section where he handled trial and appellate litigation for the State and was involved in precedent setting litigation regarding New Jersey’s Insurance Fraud Prevention Act, “IFPA”. Mr. Grady helped to establish that preponderance of the evidence is the appropriate standard of proof under the IFPA and that proof of an intent to mislead or deceive is not a necessary element of a cause of action under the IFPA. Mr. Grady submitted the State’s Amicus Brief in the Joseph Garcia, et al., v. Health Net of New Jersey, Inc., v. Wayne Surgical Center, et al., appeal.
Mr. Grady holds a juris doctor degree with honors from the Rutgers School of Law-Camden and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with honors from St. John’s University.
Mr. Grady is admitted to practice before the State and Federal courts in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Grady is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney.
Mr. Grady has lectured for the Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute on Direct and Re-Direct Examination and taught at the Division of Criminal Justice’s Training Academy for Civil Litigators on Courtroom Testimony.
